Kai Beach is a beach venue on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, with white sand, loungers and a setting that lends itself to a long pause by the sea. It is an appealing choice when the beach itself is the main event, with food and visitor facilities supporting the day rather than a packed activity programme.
Saadiyat's shoreline is the reason to come. A swim when conditions permit, some time under shade and lunch can give the day all the structure it needs. The Abu Dhabi tourism authority describes shaded loungers, an open-air restaurant and an option to upgrade to a private cabana. Those choices suit different visits: a couple may want a straightforward place to settle, while a longer family outing may put more emphasis on the seating arrangement. The authority also lists showers and washrooms, useful when comparing a dedicated beach venue with an informal coastal stop. Kai is distinct from Saadiyat Beach Club and the island's hotel beaches, even though all share the island name. Its appeal is a focused beach day without necessarily committing to a hotel stay. For travellers who enjoy both art and the outdoors, the wider island offers a particularly interesting contrast between the coast and its cultural destinations; they do not have to be compressed into the same afternoon.
What does a Kai Beach day cost for two?
Using the published adult rates, two day passes total AED 300 on a weekday or AED 450 on a weekend or public holiday. Their combined food-and-drink credits are AED 100 and AED 200 respectively. Those credits are spending allowances at the venue, not discounts to subtract from the entrance payment. This calculation uses the Saadiyat Island page checked on 18 September 2026; confirm your date because the official listings below differ.
Add transport and anything outside the pass inclusions to that budget. For a family, compare the family package with the actual ages of your children rather than multiplying the adult price. Check the day's admission programme before arranging travel: the published ladies-only programme can change who may enter.
Kai Beach entrance fees and opening hours
Kai Beach is a paid beach venue, not a free public-beach entrance. Saadiyat Island's official destination page lists adult day passes at AED 150 on weekdays, including AED 50 food-and-drink credit, and AED 225 on weekends and public holidays, including AED 100 credit. These are published reference rates checked on 14 September 2026, not a confirmed quote for your visit.
The Abu Dhabi tourism FAQ still lists different, lower fees: AED 75 on weekdays and AED 95 on weekends. Because the official pages disagree, confirm the applicable pass directly with Kai before paying or travelling. Ask about children's admission, cabana inclusions and towel charges at the same time. Food-and-drink credit is not a cash refund or a reduction of the amount paid at the entrance.
The Saadiyat page lists opening from 7 am and describes staying until sunset. It also advertises a ladies-only programme, usually on Fridays, alongside general weekday rates. Couples and families should confirm the programme for their date rather than assume every weekday has the same admission rules. The tourism authority lists the venue's contact number as +971 50 283 5795.
Kai Beach or Saadiyat Beach Club?
Choose Kai when the priority is sand, sea and a place to spend the afternoon. Saadiyat Beach Club is a different venue: its admission, packages and entrance are not interchangeable with Kai's. A booking at an island hotel is also not automatically a Kai day pass. Use the exact venue name when arranging your trip.
For a beach-and-culture day, give Kai a proper half-day rather than squeezing it between museum reservations. Bring swimwear, sun protection, a towel unless included in your pass, and dry clothes for the journey home. Showers and washrooms make changing possible. Families can check seating and shade together before choosing a package, so everyone has somewhere comfortable to return between swims.
Planning a visit to Kai Beach
A half-day allows swimming and a meal without feeling hurried. A full beach day may suit visitors who want a break between museum visits elsewhere in Abu Dhabi. The current admission product determines seating and inclusions, so a specific package description matters more than an old headline rate. The tourism page says towels are available to purchase; bringing your own can be useful unless the chosen package explicitly includes one. Use the published-rate comparison above as a starting point, then confirm your date with the venue. Protection from the sun remains part of spending several hours on an open shore, including time spent walking away from the lounger. Swimming follows local flags and lifeguard instructions. Any protected nesting areas remain outside the visitor space. The possibility of wildlife offshore is an incidental pleasure, not a promised encounter or a reason to approach it.
Location and arrival
Kai Beach has a specific entrance on Saadiyat Island. A general island address can lead towards museums, residences or another hotel beach, so the named venue is the useful destination. A taxi is a straightforward option for a beach-only outing from an Abu Dhabi hotel. When a museum is part of the same day, the two visits need a real interval for transport and changing, rather than a quick move directly from sand to gallery. Lunch at the beach followed by a return to the hotel may be a more comfortable rhythm than a late museum rush. Saadiyat's other destinations, including Louvre Abu Dhabi and Mamsha, have their own arrivals and are optional additions rather than facilities within Kai Beach.

Questions people ask
Is Kai Beach included with every Saadiyat hotel stay?
No universal inclusion is established. Hotels may have their own beaches or particular access agreements. Kai Beach entry and seating follow the terms of the actual reservation or hotel benefit, rather than the fact that the hotel is on Saadiyat Island.
Opening hours, prices and entry rules change. Confirm with the venue before you set off.
