Yas Links is a golf club on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, with a Kyle Phillips-designed championship course and a nine-hole par-three academy course. It offers a different pace from the island's theme parks. A visitor might build a stay around a full round, spend a shorter session on approach shots, or combine instruction with time elsewhere on Yas.

A quieter sporting day on Yas Island.

The championship course is an 18-hole, par-72 links-style layout. Its design is the main reason for an experienced golfer to make the trip, and a round deserves enough time to enjoy the setting as well as the score. The name describes a particular golfing experience, rather than simply another activity included in an island holiday.

The academy course is a more compact alternative, with nine par-three holes. Shorter holes offer repeated opportunities to work on the scoring part of the game, and can appeal to experienced players as well as newcomers ready for the course. A first-time golfer may prefer instruction before taking that step. These options make Yas Links easier to fit into a family visit without requiring every member of the group to devote the day to golf.

Planning a visit to Yas Links

A championship round naturally takes the larger share of a half-day, with practice and a meal extending the outing. The shorter course can leave room for another island activity, although a theme park is substantial enough to deserve its own time. A group can split between golf and a separate attraction, then meet afterwards, without everyone following the same schedule.

The club's visitor arrangements establish tee times, playing requirements and available equipment. Practice access and any buggy inclusion depend on the selected product. Tournament dates and course work can change the booking calendar, so a confirmed round is more useful than a general advertised opening time.

Location and arrival

Yas Links has its own clubhouse entrance, separate from Yas Beach and Yas Marina Circuit. Sharing an island does not mean sharing an arrival point. A journey from Dubai includes the intercity drive as well as the time needed to prepare for golf. Visitors already staying on Yas can arrange their day around the shorter local transfer, with an agreed meeting point for companions doing something else.

Questions people ask

Is a full championship round the only option?

The club also has a nine-hole par-three academy course. It offers a shorter outing with an emphasis on approach shots and putting. Lessons provide another possibility, with the appropriate course or session depending on experience and current availability.
