Kasumigaseki is a Japanese restaurant at Vida Emirates Hills in Dubai. A favourite of mine after repeated visits, it serves sushi alongside yakiniku, udon and Japanese-style salads. Its official booking page lists unlimited sushi at AED 350 per person.
There are restaurants I visit once and enjoy, and there are restaurants I keep recommending because I keep going back. Kasumigaseki is firmly in the second group. I have eaten here many times, and the reason I am so enthusiastic about it is simple: the sushi is exceptionally good.
I do not mean merely good for Dubai. For me, this is the kind of sushi that is hard to find even in Japan. That is a personal recommendation, but an emphatic one. If you love Japanese food and have not been to Kasumigaseki yet, I would make room for it.
The sushi is why I keep coming back
Kasumigaseki is at Vida Emirates Hills, and its menu goes well beyond sushi. But if a friend asked why I was sending them here, sushi would be my first answer. It is the part of the meal I would build a visit around, rather than something to add almost as an afterthought.
The photographs here come from my visits: boards of nigiri, seaweed-wrapped gunkan and rolls with generous toppings. They also show why a single picture would not really do the restaurant justice. There is room for both the familiar shape of a piece of nigiri and a more elaborate plate of rolls.

If you already enjoy sushi, my recommendation is straightforward: come here for the sushi itself. The unlimited option is attractive, but it is not the only reason I recommend the restaurant. My enthusiasm starts with how much I enjoy eating here, not with how many pieces a package lets you order.

Unlimited sushi: AED 350 per person
Kasumigaseki also offers unlimited sushi. Its official booking page currently lists Sushi with No limits at AED 350 per person, describing an evening offer with rolls and nigiri. The displayed price includes municipality fees, VAT and service charge.
For someone who wants to make sushi the whole point of the evening, this is the offer I would look at first. Rather than treating sushi as one course among many, you can plan the meal around it. The restaurant also lists Sushi Unlimited separately on its official menu page.
Before booking, confirm the available dates, serving times, any time limit, drinks and exact selection with the restaurant. The photographs in this article are from my visits, not a promise that every pictured item is included in the unlimited menu.

Yakiniku, udon and a broader Japanese table
Although sushi is the headline for me, this is not a restaurant where everyone has to want the same thing. Yakiniku, udon and Japanese-style salads are also part of what makes Kasumigaseki worth knowing. You can come for a wider Japanese meal, not just a sushi-only occasion.
That matters when deciding where to go with friends. One person may be most interested in sushi, while someone else wants meat or noodles. I would still put sushi at the centre of my own order, but the broader menu makes the restaurant an easier suggestion for a mixed group.

The official menu also lists a separate Wagyu Unlimited option. Do not confuse that with the sushi offer: choose the menu that suits the meal you want. For another Japanese dining idea, my Gyu-Kaku guide focuses on table-grill barbecue on Palm Jumeirah.
A restaurant to return to, not just try once
The sushi photographs are the obvious place to start, but I have included a view of the bar as well. There is a restaurant around those plates: bottles on curved shelves, a dark counter and a different setting from the brightly lit sushi photographs taken during the day.

I am not writing this as a one-time discovery or a list of places I still intend to visit. This is a restaurant I already return to. That is the most useful thing I can tell someone choosing where to spend an evening and a restaurant budget in Dubai.

My recommendation: go for the sushi

Dubai has plenty of places to eat Japanese food. Kasumigaseki is one I recommend with genuine enthusiasm, especially to someone who cares about sushi. The broader menu is useful, and the unlimited option is a compelling way to plan a visit. But the point is simpler than either of those things: I think the sushi is outstanding, and I keep going back.
The recommendations and photographs are from my own visits. Offer, contact and opening-hour information was checked on 17 September 2026 against the restaurant's menus, location page and official unlimited sushi booking page.
